The council of the town of Pec pod Sněžkou recommended preparing several variants of the urban design for the site of the new center of Velká Úpa. A competition for the architectural design of the new-build Aparthotel complex „Rezidence Pod Portáškami“ was announced on the basis of an invitation addressed to selected architectural studios, which agreed to the competition conditions and submitted their proposals.
